Vitruvian Park in Addison has some of the best free evening entertainment around. Every other Thursday throughout summer, plus second Saturdays monthly during summer, you can hear live music in a beautiful outdoor setting. In winter, it is known for its dazzling tree lights display. Check out its website for details.
Izzy and I walked the Vitruvian Trail to Dallas College Brookhaven Campus. We went for exercise and were amazed by Addison’s extensive parks and trail system. We circled back to see Les Lacs Park and Redding Trail. Together, this place is a virtual doggy Disneyland.
We’ll have to return to fully appreciate the 113 acres of green space, including Spruill Dog Park and Addison Circle Park, where Taste of Addison and Oktoberfest are held, and where an interactive splash pad beckons year-round young and old to play. Don’t miss the end-of-summer Doggie Splash Day!
For those who enjoy viewing outdoor sculptures, Addison is home to more public art per capita than any city in the U.S. Create your own art walk by downloading the OtoCast app, which includes photos, descriptions, and even audio from most artists about their pieces.
